TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Even a tornado delay couldn't stop the offensive firepower from the Flames, as UIC women's basketball (12-14, 7-8 MVC) defeated Indiana State (8-18, 4-12 MVC) at the Hulman Center in a Midweek Missouri Valley Conference match-up Thursday night, 95-80.
Five Flames manage to hit double figures in the contest. Senior
Jessica Carrothers led all scorers with 24 points, six assists and three rebounds. Sophomore
TuTu Clayton also tallied 20 points, dished out four assists and had three rebounds. Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman scored 14 points, sinking all six of her free throws, had five assists and four rebounds. Off the bench, seniors
Crystal Ortiz and
Amelia Strong each had a dozen points respectively.

- This was Carrothers' 11th 20 point performance, reaching that mark for the fourth consecutive game.
- Tying her collegiate-high, 12 of Clayton's 20 points came in the first quarter behind four three-pointers.
- The team shot a season-high 57.6% from the field, 50% from beyond the arc and 83.3% from the charity stripe.
- 95 points is the second high mark in the Ashleen Bracey era, only behind UIC's 113-53 victory over North Central on Dec. 8, 2024.
