CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team (4-12-1, 0-0 MVC) couldn't fend off UNC Greensboro (9-11, 0-0 SoCo) with a snowy downtown Chicago draped in the background of Curtis Granderson Stadium Saturday afternoon, 6-5 in 10 innings.
Originally planned to be a doubleheader, the second game has been pushed to tomorrow at 9 a.m. (CT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats at UICFlames.com Stay tune to UIC Baseball's social media channels for any further updates for this weekend series.

After the Spartans scored one in the top of the first, the Flames scored four in the bottom of the frame, when senior
Will Smoot was hit by pitch, scoring junior
Alexander Wright with the bases loaded. Next at bat, senior
Will Flanigan hit into a fielder's choice, when freshman
Karim Patterson scored from third. The final two runs of the inning came off the bats of juniors
Andrew Pyszka and
Jake Busson with a pair of RBI singles.
The Spartans scored four unanswered runs heading into in the middle of the game, when Busson tied things up in the bottom of the fifth with his second RBI single in the game.

Mark Eddie, Zack Millsap and freshman
Aidan Terronez, the Flames pushed it to extra innings before the Spartans secured the win with an RBI single in the top of the tenth.
