Baseball Travels for Weekend Series

The Flames will be at Belmont for a Missouri Valley Conference bout.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The UIC baseball team (6-14-1, 2-1 MVC) continues Missouri Valley Conference play this weekend, traveling to Belmont (8-17, 0-3 MVC) for a weekend series at E.S. Rose Park. The series is set to begin Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (CT). The series will be streamed on ESPN+, with a radio broadcast on the Flames Network. SCOUTING BELMONT
  • This series will be the 14th-16th meeting between the Flames and Bruins. UIC leads the all-time series 8-5.
  • Belmont lost its most recent game, falling to Lipscomb 4-1 Tuesday night.
  • Graduate student Landon Godsey leads the Bruins in batting average (.311), extra base hits (13) and runs batted in (21).
  • Junior Tate Marland leads the Bruins pitching staff in innings pitched, with 24.2. He has an earned run average of 7.30 while accumulating 21 strikeouts.
PURDUE RECAP
  • The Flames fell in a high scoring affair against Purdue on Wednesday night, losing 18-13.
  • Junior Ashton Kampa blasted two home runs and tallied four hits, while driving in six runs to lead all Flames.
  • Junior Jake Busson also homered and drove in three runs.
  • Senior Michael Vitellaro and graduate student Mark Eddie each pitched an inning of scoreless relief on the evening, with the former scattering two Boilermaker hits.
