CHICAGO– In a game that once again was decided in the closing seconds, the UIC women's basketball team (14-16, 9-10 MVC) fell short to Murray State (27-3, 18-1 MVC) 78-76 in front of the home crowd at Credit Union 1 Arena Thursday night.
Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman led UIC with a career-high 32 points on 15-for-20 shooting (75 FG%) and grabbed six rebounds. Senior
Jessica Carrothers secured a double-double, with 27 points and 10 assists. Senior
Amelia Strong scored 11 points and had four rebounds in the contest.

- This game saw 10 different lead changes, and 10 times where the score was tied.
- Coleman's 32-point performance surpassed her previous career-high of 29 points against DePaul this past December. She also tied 2023 UIC Hall of Famer Ruvanna Campbell for 10th-most points scored in a single game in program history.
- That was Carrothers' first double-double of the season.
- Strong has scored in double figures in four of the past six games.
- Sitting at 9-10 in Missouri Valley Conference play, the Flames sit at the seventh seed with one game left of conference play. If UIC wins Saturday, and Drake (11-18, 10-7 MVC) loses to UNI (16-13, 12-7 MVC) on the road. If that takes place, then the sixth seed will be determined by the NCAA Net ranking set to come out on Monday.
