EVANSTON, Ill. – The UIC baseball team (12-20-1, 7-5 MVC) is making the short trip to Evanston, Ill. for a one-game midweek matchup with Northwestern (13-18-1, 5-10 B1G). This will be the third meeting between the Flames and Wildcats this season, with the first game resulting in a 3-3 tie and Northwestern winning the second game 15-4 (7 inn.). The game will be played at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m. (CT). The game will be available to stream on
B1G+, with a radio broadcast on the
Flames Network.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
- This game will be the 79th meeting between the Flames and Wildcats. Northwestern leads the all-time series 46-30-2.
- Northwestern is coming off a three-game conference series at home against Purdue, going winless in the series. In their most recent contest they lost 8-3.
- Junior Ryan Kucherak leads the Wildcats in batting average (.298), home runs (seven), walks (16) and stolen bases (six).
- Graduate Student Ryan Weaver leads the Wildcats pitching staff in innings pitched (44.2) and strikeouts (36). Weaver has a 7.66 earned run average for the season.
MURRAY STATE RECAP
- The Flames continued Missouri Valley Conference play with a series against Murray State this past weekend, sweeping the Racers. The Flames won the final game 10-5.
- Junior Mason Lei earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors after his outing on Thursday. Lei pitched seven innings, allowed one run and struck out five, on his way to picking up the win.
- In the Flames series sweep, senior Will Flanigan went five-for-10 at the plate, mashing two home runs, driving in three and scoring four runs.
- Junior Jake Busson hit his Missouri Valley Conference-leading 12th home run in Saturday's 8-2 victory. Over the weekend Busson drove in the most runs for the Flames (seven), giving him an MVC leading 39 on the season.
- Graduate Student Mark Eddie led Flames relief pitchers in appearances and innings, appearing in two games pitching three innings. Eddie allowed no runs, one hit and tallied four strikeouts.
UIC CAREERS IN SPORTS DAY
- Prior to UIC's Kids Day Game on April 24, the Flames will host a Career Day event inside the Flames Athletic Center from 9–11 a.m.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from UIC Athletics staff about their roles and the various career paths available in sports.
