Raleigh, N.C. - The No. 22 UIC softball team lost to UNC Charlotte, 3-1, in the second day of competition at the Triangle Classic in Raleigh, N.C. The loss drops UIC's record to 1-1 at the Classic, and to 10-5 on the season.
Jennifer Tiffany went 2-for-4 from the plate for the Flames while Julie Bumgardner had UIC's lone RBI.
The Flames are scheduled to play again at 8:00 p.m. Saturday night against Ball State as the Triangle Classic moves to elimination play. UIC's Saturday morning game against Radford was cancelled as rain continues to plague the tournament.
