Chicago, Ill. -With a 6-3 record and a tournament title under its belt, the UIC softball team heads to Columbus, Ga., this weekend to compete in the premier early season tournament, the NFCA Leadoff Classic.

The three-day event features 13 teams ranked in the top 25 and 18 squads that competed in last year's NCAA Regional. This is the fourth time the Flames have competed in the tournament with UIC owning an all-time record of 5-9 at the classic.
