Stockton, Calif. -The UIC softball finished the Pacific Mini-Tournament at 0-2 after suffering a 12-1, five-inning loss to the host Tigers on Tuesday evening.
With the loss, the Flames are now 0-2 on their spring California trip and 4-18 on the season. Pacific, meanwhile, improved to 15-11 with the win.
UIC got on the board early versus the Tigers as Sara Hernandez drove in a run in the bottom of the first inning.
Pacific would storm back with avengence, though, pounding out 12 runs and 17 hits over the next four innings, plating three in the second, four in the fourth and five runs in the fifth.
The Flames' Alison Aguilar (1-8) was tagged with the loss while the Tigers also plated runs off both relievers Brittany McIntyre and Alycia Creese.
UIC managed just two hits on the day with sophomore Natalie King picking up the win to move to 7-3 on the year.
The Flames will be back in acttion on Thursday when they continue their spring California road trip by taking on San Jose State in a double header starting at 3:00 p.m. CST.
