Chicago, Ill. - UIC junior Cameron Astiazaran was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2004 NCAA Region VI Championships, it was announced on Monday afternoon following the conclusion of the tournament.
Astiazaran totaled a .278 batting average with five hits, a double and a team-high three RBI in leading the Flames to a 3-2 record.
Her best effort came in the team's 6-5, come-from-behind win over #10 Tennessee, when she went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in.
UIC, which finished the year with a record of 42-23, eliminated Bowling Green, #25 Notre Dame and the 10th-ranked Lady Vols at regionals, before dropping a hard-fought 6-5 decision to #22 Oregon State.
The Beavers fell in the regional title game to #6 Michigan, which advanced to the College World Series.
