Chicago, Ill. - UIC senior Alison Aguilar was honored as the Horizon League Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday after a near-perfect seven-day stretch in the circle.
In three appearances, Aguilar posted a 3-0 record with a 0.77 ERA. She also fanned 14 batters while walking just five.
Of her three victories was a pair of complete-game league wins, including a shutout of Cleveland State on Saturday. That moved Aguilar to 4-0 in league action this season with a 1.44 ERA.
She also entered in relief and tossed six innings, allowing just one run, in the Flames' comeback victory over DePaul last Thursday.
For the season, Aguilar is now a team-best 12-6 with a 2.19 ERA while also leading the club with 87 strikeouts.
This is the second time Aguilar has taken home pitcher of the week accolades this season, garnering the award back on March 22ns after her complete-game victory over then #10 Stanford.
