Chicago, Ill. - The Horizon League announced on Monday afternoon that UIC junior Brittany McIntyre has been named the Softball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending April 10th.

This is the second time in the last three weeks that McIntyre has taken home the award, last being named back on March 28th.

The Orland Park, Ill., native and Sandburg High School product posted a 4-1 record in the circle for the Flames in five appearances last week with a 1.45 ERA.

She helped UIC retain sole possession of first place in the Horizon League over the weekend, tossing back-to-back shutouts at UW-Green Bay. The right-hander also picked up wins against Bradley and Wisconsin last week.

McIntyre has now totaled a single-season best 13 wins this season and owns a team-low 3.37 ERA.

UIC will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they play a single game at Valparaiso at 5:00 p.m.
