Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's soccer team faces Dayton in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship this evening, Friday, Nov. 21 at Flames Field beginning at 7 p.m. Central.

The Flames (12-3-4), the 2008 Horizon League regular season champions and a Top 25 side all year long, earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons. The Flyers (15-4-2) received an automatic berth by winning the 2008 Atlantic 10 title on Sunday.

UIC is 0-1 all-time against Dayton, falling to the Flyers by a 3-1 score back in 1991.

This year's NCAA first round match marks the second straight postseason in which the Flames open against an A-10 foe. Last year UIC outlasted Saint Louis in a penalty-kick shootout to begin an unprecedented run to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Flames Field is located on UIC's South Campus at 901 W. Roosevelt Road, positioned just south of the Physical Education Building.
