CHICAGO- John Rosinski hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to send the UIC baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Youngstown State in the first of two games at Les Miller Field on Friday.
UIC improved to 8-13 and 4-0 in the Horizon League, while Youngstown State falls to 4-18 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Jason Ganek led off the 10th with a single. Brett Schaefer worked a walk, and Brandon Harwell laid down a bunt that was nearly thrown away by third baseman C.J. Morris to load the bases. Rosinski came up and blooped an Eric Marzec offering into right center to end the game in the Flames' favor.
Derrick Miramontes tossed two innings of scoreless relief to get the win.
Harwell was 2-for-3 and made a variety of fine defensive plays and picks at first.
