CHICAGO - UIC softball pitcher/outfielder Sarah Clynes was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for the period ending April 13, the league office announced on Monday.

The Florissant, Mo. native went 10-for-16 for a .625 average last week between Northern Illinois in a doubleheader on Wednesday and a three-game series against Detroit on Friday and Saturday.

The senior drove in five runs against the Huskies and the Titans, including a walk-off RBI double (her fourth of the week) in the 10th inning of game two to defeat Detroit 5-4 for the series sweep on Saturday. Clynes also hit her fourth homer of the year and first triple of the season against the Titans.
