EAST LANSING, Mich. - The UIC women's tennis team concluded its first fall tournament Sunday at the Spartan Invitational on the MSU Courts in East Lansing, Mich. Freshman Haley Craig (Olathe, Kan./South Olathe) was undefeated through the first two days of competition and competed in the championship match of her draw.

The Flames posted a 17-11 record in singles play and a 6-5 record in doubles action in the three-day event.

Craig won three-straight matches to advance to the championship singles match in her draw, but fell to K. Berestetska of Akron in a three-set match, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.

On the doubles side, Craig and teammate Mariya Kovaleva (Almaty, Kazakhstan/School #55) posted a 3-1 record. The duo fell in the championship match of their draw in an 8-6 outcome to Nguyen and Sulahian of Michigan.

The Flames return to action Thursday at the four-day Wildcat Invitational.
