CHICAGO – Members of the UIC softball team recently volunteered their time at the Special Olympics Chicago Bocce Competition held at McGuane Park on Saturday, Sept. 27. The Flames served as judges for the bocce ball tournament, while they also supported and cheered on the athletes.

In addition to helping with the breakdown of the event, time was spent dancing with the Special Olympics athletes once they were eliminated from competition.

The Flames return to the field this Saturday as they host their final tournament of the fall. UIC is set to face Loyola at noon CT and Indiana State at 2 p.m. at Flames Field.
