NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The UIC baseball team (2-6-1) dropped a doubleheader against Ohio on Saturday afternoon in Nashiville, Tenn. by final scores of 6-4 and 11-7.

Game One Recap

Senior Jeff Boehm belted two homeruns and totaled all four of UIC's RBI on the day.

Ohio struck first with a sac-fly RBI in the opening frame and then a RBI-single in the second inning, giving the Bobcats on early 2-0 lead.

Boehm went yard on his first homer of the game in the third inning, knotting the score at 2-2 and also sending redshirt senior Zenon Kolakowski across the dish.

Ohio countered with a two-RBI jack in the fourth frame and then two additional scores in the sixth to jump ahead 6-2.

Boehm pulled the Flames to within two (6-4) with his second homer of the day, plating senior Tyler Detmer, but UIC went three-up three-down in the final two frames.

Boehm now has five homers and 18 RBI on the season, ranking top-2 in the Horizon League in both categories.

Junior Ian Lewandowski (0-2) was credited with the loss as he lasted six innings, allowing 10 hits and five earned runs.

Senior Alex Lee sent two more across the dish with a two-RBI single to right field. Lee was one of five UIC players that recorded a multi-hit game.

Boehm once again plated Philbin in the fifth frame on another double to right field. Sophomore Ricardo Ramirez sent Boehm home off a single to center field, giving UIC a 5-1 lead.

The Flames went ahead 7-1 in the sixth stanza after sophomores Cody Bohanek and Rob Calabrese posted back-to-back singles to start the inning. Two batters later, Philbin scored Bohanek and Calabrese off his second career triple.

The Bobcats plated a single run in the seventh inning before erupting in the top of the eighth for nine scores and claiming the 11-7 victory.
