CHICAGO - UIC softball senior Eleni Polites was recently featured in the Saturday (April 4) edition of the Northwest Herald. The article profiled Polites' journey from her time at McKendree University as a freshman to walking on the Flames' squad as a sophomore and ultimately serving as a starter and UIC's top hitter this season.

The Cary, Ill., native is having a standout senior campaign for the Flames. In 25 games played, Polites boasts the top batting average on the team at .385 and is second in hits with 25. She has eight multi-hit outings and owns four extra-base hits with three doubles and one triple.
