The 2015-16 academic year begins in 47 days and UICFlames.com counts down the Top 25 Flames over the summer months (June 8-July 31). Each sport will be featured over eight weeks as we preview the upcoming year in UIC Athletics.

In this installment of 'Top 25 Flames for 2015-16', we will look at women's golf senior Kelsey Jensen. Last season, the transfer from Seminole State College of Florida earned the second All-Horizon League Team selection in program history.

Jensen easily broke program records for scoring average (79.75) and birdies (34). She began her UIC career with six consecutive rounds in the 70s and finished the 2014-15 season with 13. Additionally, Jensen's 54-hole total (237) and eighth place finish at the Horizon League Championships set program records.

As a senior in 2015-16, Jensen seeks to break the career program records for birdies (59) and scoring average (83.16). UIC looks to build off its best finish at the conference championships in program history as the Flames finished in a tie for fourth place (983).

UIC set program records both as a team (974, 54-hole total) and lowered its scoring average seven strokes (328.71) from the 2013-14 season. The Flames collected 44 more birdies than the 2013-14 campaign (115-71).

Jensen fired a career-low round of 73 and finished in fifth place at the Butler Spring Invitational (153). She finished as the runner up at the Green Bay Phoenix Invitational with scores of 75-74-77, leading to a program record 54-hole total of 226.

Jensen placed sixth at both the Chitown Classic (79) and the Cougar Golf Classic (161). Elsewhere, she tied for seventh at the Western Illinois Invitational (158) with consecutive rounds of 79 and carded a 78 in the third round of the Loyola Fall Invitational (242) for a fourth place finish. She fired consecutive rounds of 78 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational (156) and placed 13th in an impressive field of 93 golfers.
