The Flames women's swimming and diving team lost their season-opening meet at Indiana State, 178.5-121.5.
Lexie Joy and
Cydney Liebenberg each had multiple victories, but the Sycamores won 10 of the 16 events to rack up enough points in the 9-4-3-2-1 scoring system.
"Some of our upperclassmen gave us the performances we expect from them. We got some impressive debuts from our freshmen, too," head coach
Tim Loeffler said. "Indiana State improved a lot from last year. For us, this year is kind of a blank slate. We saw some things that we have to work on, and with three weeks until our next meet on the women's side we will have a chance to do so."
