CHICAGO -- Unplayable field conditions and weather in the Fort Wayne, Ind., area Friday have led to the cancelation of the series finale between UIC and Purdue Fort Wayne. The game will not be rescheduled.

The Flames will return to Chicago and prepare to host Youngstown State next Friday and Saturday, March 18-19. The Penguins won the Horizon League's regular season championship in 2021 before UIC won three games in as many days at YSU's Softball Complex to earn the Horizon League Softball Championship crown and the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Championship.
