TEMPE, Ariz. -- The ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women's Regional Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point have been released for the 2022 spring season and UIC rising junior Agnes Gustafsson has been ranked No. 15 in the Midwest Region.

The Regional Rankings include the Top-10 Teams, Top-20 Singles, and Top-10 Doubles for every region. UIC's region, Midwest, encompasses teams from the Big Ten, Missouri Valley Conference, Big East, Mid-American Conference, and Horizon League. At No. 15, Gustafsson is the highest-ranked player who competed in the Horizon League in the spring, and third highest-ranked player from outside the Big Ten. No current player from UIC's future conference - The Valley - placed someone in the top 20.

The 2022 Horizon League Player of the Year, Gustafsson went 14-3 in regular season dual match singles play, compiling a winning percentage of .824.  That was the second-best mark in the conference, trailing only her teammate and doubles partner, Ana Jover. All of Gustafsson's singles matches were in the No. 1 flight, where she consistently beat the best player from the opposing team. She put together a nine-match winning streak late in the season, only snapped in a third set tiebreaker in the last match of the year.

Gustafsson, also an All-Academic Team honoree, went 3-1 in Horizon League singles play.  She was 4-0 on the doubles courts in conference action, and 14-3 overall. Playing alongside Jover, she was named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week a conference-best four times.
