SCOUTING INDIANA STATE
- This will be the 21st match-up between Indiana State and UIC. Although the Flames trail in the overall series 13-7, UIC has won in the past four meetings.
- In the last meeting, the Flames fended off the Sycamores on the road at the Hulman Center, 58-53 on Feb. 1. Senior Ky Dempsey-Toney (Franklin, N.J./Franklin) secured a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.
- The Sycamores dropped back-to-back games Bradley (10-15, 4-10 MVC) and Illinois State (16-9, 10-4 MVC) at home last weekend. Indiana State has seen better success on the road then at home, collecting three of their four wins this season at SEMO, Southern Illinois (4-19, 2-12 MVC) and Wright State.
- In the Sycamores victory over the Salukis on Feb. 9, senior Deja Jones completed the first triple-double in over three decades for Indiana State, scoring 11 points grabbing 12 rebounds and 12 assists in the 87-63 victory.
LAST GAME OUT – VS. SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
- The Flames returned to the win column Sunday afternoon, defeating the Salukis in a 62-46 bout at the Banterra Center in Carbondale, Ill.
- Two Flames led the way in scoring with a dozen points apiece. Senior Arin Freeman (Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock/Central Carolina) scored 12 with a pair of assists and steals. Senior Makiyah Williams (Chicago, Ill./Trinity/Marquette) netted 12 with a pair of rebounds and assists.
- Dempsey-Toney scored 11 points, grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds, three blocks and a pair of steals.
- Securing the victory, third-year head coach Ashleen Bracey secures her third consecutive double-digit win season, a feat that hadn't been accomplished since former head coach Lisa Ryckbosch (2002-11).
