ST. LOUIS, Mo. – UIC outfielder Terrick Thompson-Allen has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Thompson-Allen led the Flames to a three-game sweep of Belmont with a dominant performance at the plate, slashing .538/.571/1.385 over the weekend. The senior outfielder went 7-for-13 with eight RBI, six runs scored, three home runs, and a triple across the series.
His standout showing came in Friday's 21-10Â win, where he went 4-for-5 with five RBI, four runs scored, two home runs and a triple. He added a homer and two RBIÂ in Saturday's finale to help UIC close out the sweep.
This is the first weekly honor of the season for Thompson-Allen, and marks the Flames' first MVC Player of the Week nod this season.
No. 4 UIC will open play in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament on Wednesday, as it will take on no. 3 Southern Illinois to begin the double-elimination portion of the tournament.Â
