DES MOINES, Iowa – In a noisy Knapp Center Sunday afternoon, the UIC women's basketball team (13-14, 8-8 MVC) were victorious against Drake (8-18, 7-9 MVC) in Missouri Valley Conference road action, 69-61.
Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman led all scorers with 23 points, eight rebounds and a steal. Senior
Jessica Carrothers scored 20 points, dished out three assists and grabbed a pair of rebounds. Off the bench, senior
Amelia Strong scored nine points and led the team with nine rebounds.

- This was the Flames' second win over the Bulldogs since joining the MVC in July 2022.
- Coleman collected her sixth 20-plus game of the season, and the first since her 20 points against Southern Illinois (9-16, 6-10 MVC) on Feb. 5.
- Carrothers has scored 20-plus points for her fourth consecutive game, reaching the mark over a dozen times this season.
- With four games left in Missouri Valley Conference play, the Flames sit in sixth place, with Drake in seventh and Southern Illinois in eighth close behind.

The Flames finally return home next Thursday when they take on Bradley (19-9, 12-5 MVC) for an 11 a.m. (CT) tip-off at the Credit Union 1 Arena.
