CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (14-17, 9-11 MVC) found themselves in an overtime thriller against Belmont (20-11, 16-4 MVC) falling short 78-70 to close out Missouri Valley Conference play.
The Flames locked in the No. 7 seed in the 2026 Credit Union 1 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament next week, March 12-15 in Coralville, Iowa at the Xtream Arena.
Redshirt sophomore
Julia Coleman led all scorers with 28 points and a collegiate-high 15 rebounds in the contest. Senior
Jessica Carrothers scored 14 points and dished out six assists. Graduate student
Crystal Ortiz scored 11 points, sinking three triples behind 25 minutes off the bench.
