CHICAGO – The UIC softball team (16-17-1, 5-7 MVC) will host Murray State (13-17, 5-5 MVC) for a Missouri Valley Conference three-game series. Murray State comes into the series one spot ahead of UIC in the MVC standings. First pitch will take place at 1 p.m. CT on Friday.

The Flames played a three-game series against conference opponent Bradley, going 1-2. UIC dropped the first two games before winning by run rule in the final game of the series, winning 13-4 in five innings. In the win, the Flames scored six runs in the first inning, with
