CHICAGO – The UIC baseball team (9-19-1, 4-5 MVC) is hosting Northwestern (12-15-1, 5-7 B1G) for its second meeting with the Wildcats this season, and third game against a Big Ten opponent. Earlier this season the Flames traveled to Northwestern in a game that resulted in a 3-3 tie. The game will be played at Curtis Granderson Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m. (CT).

Wednesday's game will also be UIC Faculty and Staff Night where with their school ID, anyone who works at UIC can attend the game for free

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN
- This game will be the 78th meeting between the Flames and Wildcats. Northwestern leads the all-time series 45-30-2.
- Northwestern is coming off a three-game conference series at home against Michigan State, going 2-1. In their most recent contest they won 8-6.
- Junior Ryan Kucherak leads the Wildcats in batting average (.294) and stolen bases (six).
- Freshman Jake Rifenburg leads the Wildcats qualified pitching staff with a 4.75 earned run average in 30.1 innings pitched.
INDIANA STATE RECAP
- The Flames continued Missouri Valley Conference play with a series against Indiana State this past weekend, going 1-2. The Flames won the final game by run rule 17-3, with the game being called after seven innings.
- In the Flames win, Jake Busson led the Flames driving in four runs, with Lucas Smith and Sean Cody following driving in three runs a piece.
- Kendall Lyons earned the win pitching 5.1 innings, only allowing one earned run and striking out three.
