Chicago, Ill. - For the second-straight season, the University of Illinois at Chicago baseball team will head into this weekend's Horizon League Championship, at Nischwitz Stadium, hosted by Wright State, as the number one seed in the tournament.
UIC (35-16) will square off with the winner of Wednesday's play-in game between No. 6 Detroit (15-31) and No. 7 Cleveland State (10-37) at 9:30 a.m. (CST) on Thursday morning.
No. 3 UW-Milwaukee and No. 4 Youngstown State will do battle at 1:30 p.m. (CST) on Thursday afternoon, following UIC's opening contest. Host Wright State and No. 2 seed Butler will conclude the festivities at 5:30 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday evening.
There will be three games apiece on Friday and Saturday with the championship contest scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
