CHICAGO
- As the 68th season of UIC men's basketball draws near, UICFlames.com will be highlighting the 2014-15 newcomers during the next several weeks, giving fans an inside scoop on the fresh faces that head coach Howard Moore will have in his arsenal for the upcoming campaign.

Getting to Know the Newcomers continues with junior Paris Burns. The Chicago native was an All-State point guard for Proviso East High School and helped the Pirates earn the runner-up title at the state championship in 2012, falling by two points to a Jabari Parker-led Simeon squad. Burns comes to UIC as a junior after competing two seasons at the junior college level. During his sophomore year at Vincennes, Burns piloted the Trail Blazers to a program record 34-3 season mark and a trip to the NJCAA Final Four.
