CHICAGO
- As the 68th season of UIC men's basketball draws near, UICFlames.com has been highlighting the 2014-15 newcomers, giving fans an inside scoop on the fresh faces that head coach Howard Moore will have in his arsenal for the upcoming campaign.

Getting to Know the Newcomers concludes its preseason coverage with fifth-year guard Jay Harris. The Aurora, Ill., native comes to UIC from Wagner where he averaged 10.3 points per game and shot nearly 40 percent from behind the arc during his junior season. Harris spent his first two years at Valparaiso where he helped the Crusaders achieve back-to-back 20-win seasons. He averaged nine points per game during his sophomore season at Valpo and lit up #3 Ohio State for 18 points on Nov. 25, 2011. The first team All-State Oswego East graduate was the nation's No. 22 rated point guard in the 2010 recruiting class and the fifth-best prospect in the state of Illinois, according to ESPN.com/Scouts Inc. Harris is currently pursuing his master's degree in Instructional Leadership at UIC.
