UIC placed 75 student-athletes on the Horizon League Honor Roll for the spring semester.  In the announcement made today, all 18 league-sponsored sports were represented.  Baseball led the way with 10 members, with women's soccer right behind with nine.  Softball had eight, as did the combined women's cross country and track and field squads.

When combined with the Flames' record 86 honor roll members in the fall semester, the 2017-18 total of 161 honorees capped a historic season in the classroom.  The department's overall GPA in the spring semester was 3.17, an all-time high.  Fifty-one Flames posted a perfect 4.0 GPA this spring, with an additional 101 earning between 3.5 and 4.0.

Nearly 1,000 student-athletes from the Horizon League's 10 institutions were named to the honor roll.  Women's track and field and cross country had the most representatives with 137.  Women's soccer also crossed the century mark with 129.  Women's swimming and diving, men's track and field/cross country, and men's soccer rounded out the top five.

Student-athletes were required to meet three criteria in order to qualify for the honor roll:

1. Participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season
2. Completion of three semesters or four quarters as a full-time student at the same member institution
3. Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale)
