For the third straight meet, UIC set a season high. The team scored 370.300 in a competitive tri-meet at Cal with Oklahoma. The defending national champion Sooners took first place and the hosts took second. Nonetheless, the Flames received season best performances up and down the lineup, including five top tallies from
Sam Montague.
"What a night - another season high!" head coach
Charley Nelson said. "This team is really learning how to compete Even with that, we left multiple points out there, so there's a lot of room to keep climbing.
Xan Weaver and
Sam Montague had really strong showings in the all-around, which should position them well in the rankings.
Kaleb Booth keeps getting better too. His floor routine stood up right next to future Olympians who were on the floor tonight. It was great to see a big UIC crowd in the stands, too."
