CHICAGO (Oct. 24, 2024) – After playing a huge part in the 2023-24 success of UIC women's basketball, recent graduate
Dais' Ja Trotter (Louisville, Ky./Cincinnati/Seneca) signed a professional contract to play in Morocco last week, competing for the Mat Moghreb Tetoutan women's basketball team.
"I'm so proud of Dais' Ja," head coach
Ashleen Bracey said. "This has been a dream of hers for a very long time. Dais' Ja loves the game of basketball and exhibits that in her work ethic every day. This is a much-deserved opportunity, and I know she will do amazing things in Morocco."
Trotter played an instrumental role in the Flames success last season, playing in all 34 games primarily off the bench. Kicking off with a season-high 22 points against Northwestern, Trotter was the fifth best scorer on the team, averaging 7.8 points per game.
The 2024-25 Flames are set to host Roosevelt for an exhibition game Oct. 29 at Credit Union 1 Arena for a 6 p.m. (CT) tip-off. It is also Trick or Treat with the Flames, where fans are invited to dress up in costume in search for candy on the concourse.
Fans are strongly encouraged to support NIL opportunities for UIC student-athletes through contributions to
The Chicago Collective.
