EVANSVILLE, Ind. (May 26, 2024) – The Missouri Valley Conference released its 2024 All-Tournament team Saturday at the conclusion of the MVC Baseball Championship, and UIC senior infielder Zane Zielinski (Chicago, Ill./Northeast CC) was honored as the lone representative for the Flames.
 
Zielinski batted .571 in the Flames' four games this week, and also netted a .588 on base percentage throughout the tournament. He ranked second on the team in 2024 with a .363 batting average, including eight home runs and 42 runs batted in.
 
The Flames went 2-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship and finished the 2024 season with a 35-20 overall record. 35 wins was the most for UIC since 2017, and the Flames finished fifth in The Valley, their highest finish since joining the conference in 2022.
