On This Date: Women's Soccer Sets Record, Scores Six Goals

Team Also Established Margin of Victory Standard

The UIC women's soccer program enjoyed the most prolific offensive match in program history on this date in 2016.

The Flames scored six goals in a 6-1 win over Chicago State.  The six-goal total, as well as the five-goal margin of victory, remain program records to this day.

The single-game marks for shots (39), shots on goal (19), and points (16) were also established in the win over the crosstown rivals.

UIC shared the wealth, as six different players scored.  Then-freshman Emily Valentine had a goal and an assist, as did Alexis Jakuszewski.  Jasmin Carrera had two assists.

The six goal outburst, combined with 2-0 wins in the team's next two games against Youngstown State and Green Bay, helped set the program record for games in a three-match span (10).  That record was matched in 2019, when the Flames beat Youngstown State 3-0, Green Bay 4-1, and Cleveland State 3-0.  Those victories were part of a six-game winning streak, which became the longest streak in program annals.
