The Flames repeated with a Horizon League Singles Player of the Week. This time,
Dominika Hrabalova won the award after two dominant wins against conference opponents.
Hrabalova had a dominant week on the singles courts. She was the first player to complete her match in both of UIC's outings, and set the tone for Flames wins over Northern Kentucky and IUPUI. In the conference opener against the Norse, Hrabalova steamrolled her opponent in a 6-1, 6-1 win on the #4 court. She was moved up to the #3 spot in the lineup the next day, and was even more efficient against the Jaguars. She cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win in her first appearance at #3 this year.
This is Hrabalova's first Horizon League weekly honor. It is the second straight week the team has had an award winner, and the team's third overall singles accolade this season.
Agnes Gustafsson and
Tamara Malazonia have won the award previously.
The Flames will visit Milwaukee on Saturday, as they reach the midpoint of the conference season.
